| THE THIRD HARMONIC: WOOD Emotion
= ANGER
Wood is about focusing your thoughts and feelings into action. In Metal, we learn how the TRIBE thinks the world works, and what the tribe considers important. We learn the structures, rules and values of our tribe. In Water, we disintegrate the tribal structures to experience other ways of being. Because the world is constantly changing, the rules we learn from our Tribe are always at least a generation out of date. We test the tribal ideas to see which are timeless, and which need to be changed. Moving in Water, we gather information through experiences, often the ones our Tribe warn us about. We then use this information to commit to an identity. Wood is about the pioneer aspect of ourselves, the part of us that says "I am unique; this is who I am". Taking the best of our tribal knowledge, adding our personal experiences and conclusions together, we commit to an identity and choose a direction in life. We put into action the beliefs we agree to. And during this journey through wood, we see if our foundational beliefs can support our dreams. Wood is where we take the tools we have learned from our tribal structures, the fantasies that excite us, and set out into the unknown towards our desires. Resistance and pressure can hinder us at every step; yet these road blocks (which we attract) simply challenge our commitment to our professed beliefs. The more firmly we stand grounded in our convictions, the quicker we experience the result of those beliefs. If we find ourselves going down a road we do not like, our Warrior energy is there to stand up for a change of direction. Wood is responsible for setting boundaries, so the energy flows where we direct it. A lack of boundaries can trigger our Warrior into frustration and inappropriate action. Our Wood energy is competitive, and loves bold actions and big risks. |
