| THE BODY LANGUAGE OF WATER
The body is a hologram of our being. Each area of the body reflects the alignment between our higher purpose (our soul's beliefs) and the beliefs we choose as we move through life. When we experience chronic pain, illness or injury, we are receiving a message from the subconscious. These messages can be translated to understand where our thinking/doing/believing is out of alignment. The messages from the Water areas of the body have to do with change, fear of the unknown, prescience, and safety. Because the Water part of us is connected to everything and all potential, it knows things long before our conscious mind. These feelings demand attention, but if we do not pay attention to them, these parts of the body will grab our attention. Stress is caused by too much change, being unable to understand what we are feeling, or fear of the unknown that accompanies change. We also need to know that others will listen to us when we feel unsafe, and validate our need to make change. Ankles The ankles are ruled by the Water element. Ankle injuries are commonly associated with sports that require a lot of running, jumping and change of direction. Because Water personalities are impulsive, they often "jump" into things without planning, and they love to change direction quickly. Repetitive ankle injuries may be the body's way of asking for more thoughtful action before moving forward. Kidneys and Bladder Every
minute, one-quarter of your blood is passed through the kidneys,
where toxins are filtered out and sent to the bladder. Kidney problems
could indicate a toxic environment (emotionally toxic, as well as
physically). Repeated UTI's may be the result of an unsafe environment,
either home or work. (A safe environment is one where we trust our
surroundings).
Mid-back The kidneys are located in the mid-back area of the body. When there is too much stress or fear of the unknown, the muscles in the mid-back may tighten to try to protect the kidneys. Neck The neck represents the ability to see in many directions. When our beliefs are too rigid, the neck may lose its flexibility, indicating beliefs need to be stretched. Ears The ears are important for our connection to the world. We hear what is going on around us, and make assumptions, then take action based on what is heard. We must therefore learn the art of listening without judgment. When we close off our hearing because we are not interested by what others have to say, we lose some of our resilience. If others do not want to hear what we are saying, we may begin to feel insecure and unsafe. (Some children with high water energy develop recurring ear infections to indicate they feel unsafe because they don't know what to expect. One way to help them is to provide a visual chart of their weekly schedule, a consistent structure where things do not change much, and a verbal rundown at breakfast of what their day will bring).
