THE
BODY LANGUAGE OF WOOD
The
body is a hologram of our being. Each area of the body reflects
the alignment between our higher purpose (our soul's beliefs) and
the beliefs we choose as we move through life.
When we experience chronic pain, illness or injury, we are receiving
a message from the subconscious. These messages can be translated
to understand where our thinking/doing/believing is out of alignment.
The
messages from the Wood areas
of the body have to do with commitment, action, justice, equality
and protection of the heart, or our dreams. Wood
governs our identity; the collection of truths we
have gathered for ourselves and commit to with full conviction.
Most of the physical imablances that show up in our Wood areas have
to do with misunderstanding our anger, and not allowing sufficient
expression to evolve anger into understanding. (See the page
on Rage work for more information). Our anger is designed to
show us where we are veering from our path of commitment - and the
beliefs that show up and attempt to push us from our conviction.
Rather than see this as someone or something "doing" something
to us, we can see this as a test of our own commitment to our identity.
(Wood governs the eyes, so changing how we see the events around
us will change our experience.)
Liver
The liver is the protector of the heart. Metaphorically, liver,
the seat of anger, is the Warrior energy that defends and protects
the beauty and dreams of the heart. Liver imbalances – especially
alcohol related – often indicate the Warrior energy being
used to defend positions that are at odds with the person’s
heart. Every organ in the body gets its nutrients from the liver.
One of the liver's most crucial functions is detoxification. The
liver transforms potentially dangerous metabolites, toxins, and
excess hormones into biologically harmless water-soluble compounds.
Gallbladder
The gallbladder stores repressed anger. Gallstone “attacks”
are indications of repressed anger, and steps must be taken to move
anger from the body. Liver cleanses are excellent at helping to
move out old anger issues and bring them to the surface for emotional
healing.
Throat, thyroid
The throat is the seat of speaking one’s truth, an action
governed by balanced Anger. The thyroid can be affected by imbalances
in anger, a fear of speaking your truth, or speaking things you
do not really believe.
Eyes
The lenses through which we view the world are governed by the Wood
element. If we carry judgments, those judgments will color our view
and change our perspective. When we change our opinions, our beliefs
and our judgments, our eyes can see in new ways.
Jaw
When we do not feel free to speak our truth, or to speak with honesty,
or to speak about injustice; our jaw begins to hold the stress.
When we hold too much of our truth insie, we can develop TMJ, which
jams the cranial bones and then affects the spine.
