THE BALANCE POINT Perfect balance between the yin and yang Season
of Spring: February 5 -May 5 Happy Spring! Officially Spring began February 4. From February 4 until March 21, we were in the first 6 weeks of a three-month Wood cycle (focus, action, masculine energy) while simultaneously being in the last 6 weeks of a six month-feminine cycle (inward, stillness). March 21st, we move into the six month masculine cycle combined with the remaining six weeks of the Wood energy - a potent time for taking action and commitment to birthing something new. You may have been feeling a bit of schizophrenia during these past 6 weeks – a need to break out into action, and yet an inability to move. This is natural for this time of year. We are bursting to step into a great action, yet being held back while we prepare the ground for the new season. This has been a particularly challenging six weeks for most people I know. We are standing on a crumbling foundation, where all our cherished beliefs are no longer able to support us. I recently saw a cartoon that said "90% of corporate life is feigning interest". The painful truth of this sentence is that ANYWHERE in our lives that we're phoning it in, is now in deep trouble. We can no longer move through our lives unconsciously - we are being asked to step up and take things to a whole 'nother level. And yet, a new cultural foundation is not quite in place. The sad fact is, our institutions can no longer support us. We have been planting our trust in structures based on the belief that they will remain the same throughout our lives; and we have also been planting our belief of abundance in those same institutions. We need to re-member an important point: our abundance does not come FROM these things - jobs, investments, banks - our abundance comes THROUGH these things. The Source of all Life, whatever that means to you personally, is where abundance is accessed. Source is the only place you can plant your roots deeply enough to move through life in trust. So all around, we are pulling our outdated beliefs from the lifeless soil in which they have been struggling to survive, and we are looking around perplexedly, wondering, "where shall I plant myself now?" The new structures that have been being built slowly and quietly; many times underground and out of sight, those new structures do not seem hearty enough to support the reminder of our time here, and allow us to leave a legacy of which we will be proud. We have to remember to send our roots THROUGH these institutions and into deeper soil. When we do that, we access not only more abundance, but the sacred energy that is missing in these institutions. We become a conduit for a higher vibration. It fills our bodies and flows out, touching everyone we meet. What a lovely image to remake our country - bringing the sacred back to all things! Exhilaration and terror are but one notch removed from each other on the dial of Fear. When we feel afraid of the unknown, the ONLY place that we can be safe is right here in the moment. Breathing deeply connects us to our physical body. Breathing deeply and focusing on our connection to SOURCE helps remind us that we are simply actors in a story - a story that is ever-changing, and one in which we have far more power than we believe. In the moment, ask yourself, "what do I need right now that I don't have?" You may be surprised to hear that the answer is almost always, "nothing". Most of our fear comes from projecting ourselves into a future of scarcity and lack. When we come back into the moment and ask "what do I need right now?", we find that we have EVERYTHING we need right now to move onto the next moment. Your breath in the moment connects you to everything, and everything comes with perfect timing when it is needed. If, for the next year, you can allow yourself to be comfortable with not knowing - if, for the next year you can breathe yourself through fear in each and every moment - if, in the next year you can re-establish a relationship of integrity with your body - then I think the prophecies of 2012 might look very very different than the usual doom and gloom. I think they might be so grand, and so fun, and so challenging and rewarding, that we will look back on ourselves with awe. Thank you to everyone who shared their vision of the future from the last newsletter. It was enlightening to put them all together and see the geometry of many visions fitting together as one.
In awe and wonder, Cat
