June 21 at 7:30 a.m. the solstice is reached - the longest moment of light in the year, the shortest of darkness. Thus ends the six-month masculine cycle of outward motion, external focus and outward growth. Beginning today, our energy will begin to slowly move back towards our own center, putting an end to the explosive growth we have been experiencing since May 5.

And explosive growth has been the theme for the first 6 weeks of summer! Everyone I have talked to speaks to the speeding up of time; the increase in commitments, and the lack of quality time to just hang out with friends, family or self. This is consistent with the exponential evolution we are currently undergoing; it is also the natural energy from May 5 to June 21
.

What can we expect for the next 6 weeks? Well, prepare for some schizophrenia. While the next 6 weeks of summer have a natural urge to grow and expand, the 6 month feminine cycle that begins will ask you to draw your energy closer to home. Rather than starting anything new, work on the "gardens" you currently have. One thing we've seen during the explosive growth phase is a growth of things we don't necessarily want or need. These are the things that, if given your attention, can be weeded out and the additional energy they free up can be focused on something else.

It comes as no surprise to any of you reading this newsletter that our old ways of life and looking at the world are coming to an end. None too soon, in my opinion. The disaster in the Gulf is a clear message that we have reached the end of "business as usual". So, what are some practical ways we can adjust our lifestyles?

First, let me be clear about one thing, We will never kill the planet. We will only kill ourselves. If we don't change, our ability to live off of Mother Earth will die, not Mother Earth herself. So while it is appropriate to grieve and feel anger about the pillaging of the earth, do not put her into the place of a victim. She is the Mother. She holds the resources. She can evict us faster than we can respond.

How would you treat your own mother in this situation? Let's say your mom gave you a lovely place to live, fabulous food to eat, and endless wonders of nature to enjoy. And, being an immature and imperfect child, you took advantage of her, trampled her gardens, stole money from her purse, and talked to her like she was beneath you. You were mean to her pets, ignored your chores, and stayed out partying with your friends all night while she worked all day to keep a roof over your head.

We have all done this to Mother Earth. Our unconsciousness and ignorance have caused us to co-create the increasing disasters. They are metaphors, messages from our subconscious, that says "Mom has had enough. She's going to throw you out on your ear if you don't shape up. And this time she means business!"

Now, I know most of you on my newsletter list personally, and you are all good people doing good things. The last thing I would suggest is that you're not doing enough. You're all doing the best you can, just like your mom did. So instead of giving you more things to do, I am going to give you some new filters for your eyes. When you see the world in a different way, the things you do become imbued with a new kind of intent and energy. Therefore, the things you already do simply become more powerful.

1. Nature is not your enemy. Stop poisoning her. Read the Findhorn books, or the Perelandra books. They will both teach you how to have a conscious partnership with Nature. If you have "pests" eating your garden, learn how to talk to the Nature Intelligence and put aside a certain portion of your garden for the creatures who live there. Do not poison plants that don't fit into your vision. Did you know that "weeds" actually have a specific cycle of growth to heal your soil? Each weed comes after the weed before it has done its job. If your lawn will only grow weeds, chances are your soil is so depleted that the weeds are working overtime to heal it, and by association, you. Begin feeding your soil with good compost, gypsum, or whatever it needs to support a garden of beauty. Your life will never be the same when you experience a co-creative relationship with your land!

2. Water is conscious. It has a memory that stores emotion. Read up on Dr. Masaru Emoto and follow his advice for healing the Gulf. He suggests a prayer that goes:

"I send the energy of love and gratitude to the waters and all living creatures
in the Gulf of Mexico and its surroundings.
To the whales, dolphins, pelicans, fish, shellfish, planktons,
corals, algae ... to ALL living creatures ... I am sorry.
Please forgive me. Thank you.
I Love You."

If you live near water, consider saying the prayer while you are in it. If you don't live near water, each day take a glass of tap water and say this prayer, then pour it down the drain where it will enter the water chain.

3. Believe you have more power than you have ever dreamt of. None of us are doing our job if we are feeling powerless and limited. Our ability to vision and come together with intent to heal and play is more powerful than a nuclear bomb. Stand up and own your power, then find like-minded individuals to create rituals of healing and joy.

4. Read "Speaking with Elephants" by Deena Metzger (click on "animals" in the upper left and read the short version - and have a box of kleenex handy!) You will NEVER see the world in the same way again.

5. Make a list detailing the wonder of you. You are unique - there is no-one on this planet (perhaps anywhere in the universe) that is quite like you. Your uniqueness is essential to the harmony of all life, everywhere. Do you know why you are so special? Can you tell us? Make a list of your amazingness and share it with your loved ones, while listening to their list.

6. Love yourself. You are here because Mother Earth called you to be a Warrior of Change. Love who you are and how you got to be this way. Do not measure yourself by any yardstick other than your own heart. As the structures around us collapse, your heart will be the only safe place in which to live. Love yourself with such grandeur and compassion that you radiate healing to all your encounter.

7. Laugh. This is a story we all signed up to play. Don't take it so seriously. Let the energy of summer fill your heart with light and love and laughter, and find joy in simple things. Watch comedy, and spend time with friends who tell great stories and good jokes. Laugh, laugh, laugh.

8. And finally, there is beauty. Find a way to have every action you take, every thought, every feeling, have beauty. Even if you cannot see how anger can be beautiful, or despair, find beauty in the fact that you can feel, and see, and sense, and have a body which experiences life in a perfect and unique way. Remember the words of Buckminster Fuller; "When I am working on a problem, I never think about beauty. I think only how to solve the problem. But when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong." Find a way, NOT to bring beauty to what you do, but to SEE how you ALREADY bring beauty to everything you do. By acknowledging the beauty in your actions, you help everyone to see beauty all around, which ultimately recreates Eden on Mother Earth.

You have enough, you do enough, you are enough. Thank you for being here, on this journey with me. This is the fun part - we are creating a new world, and every one of your gifts is VITAL to the end game.

Wishing you a joyous summer!!
