 Welcome to Emotional Technologies™. My name is Cat Thompson, researcher, author and reality engineer. Life is made up of stories. Each of us, every day, is writing our story. Sometimes we’re in an action/adventure; sometimes we’re in an epic romance; sometimes we’re in the hero’s journey on our way to battle evil. Sometimes we're writing alone, other times we're writing a communal script. Humans crave good stories; stories of battling adversity, stories that inspire us to be better people, stories that touch others, and stories that leave a legacy we will be proud of. Great stories require imagination and the ability to see beyond the current reality. They also require an understanding of how we create stories together. Our world
is currently suffering from an imagination drought. All over the globe,
people are looking around and asking, “is this it? Is this the best
story we can write? Can I write a better story? Can we
write a better story?” Many of us are continually striving to write better stories, yet we may find ourselves repeating difficult portions of our story, portions we thought we had long outgrown. Emotion is a magnetic energy that will draw events back to you until you understand how you are creating that pattern. If you have ever asked yourself "why is this happening to me?", we can help. Emotional Technologies™ has made a priority of mapping patterns, particularly the subconscious ones. We have taken ourselves as a species to an extreme of the “I, me, my” story. The new stories must include “we”, or we run the risk of extinction. As the whole can be much greater than the sum of its parts, great stories require many different points of view. Learning to see and appreciated the role of all diversity in our collective story will restore equality, balance and the sacred. We all carry epic stories inside of us. Sharing these stories creates community. When you model a great story, you may find people around you auditioning for a leading role in your story.
